Fabio Quartararo from Yamaha has secured pole position for the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez. He won the position by setting a lap time record of 1minute, 36.705 seconds, the fastest on the circuit.
His Yamaha teammate Maverick Vinales and the current world champion Marc Marquez tailed behind him.
Pramac Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia took fourth spot and his teammate Jack Miller will join him in the second row for Sunday's race despite sliding off at turn 11 during his final lap.
The race at the Circuito de Jerez will be the opener of the 2020 MotoGP season, which was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
